Software Engineer with a Focus on Data Science

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) conducts monetary policy in the overall interest of the country. It ensures price stability and contributes to an environment where the economy can develop well.

The Data Warehouse Services leadership unit develops and operates bank-wide platforms and tools for novel analytical procedures. Users in many units of the SNB use them to shape data-driven business processes. These analytical procedures include data science methods and techniques for machine learning.

Your Tasks

• Advise and support data science specialists in demanding projects related to data analysis and data transformation; especially support with technical and methodological questions.
• Contribute to the expansion, optimization, and operation of tools and systems for end-user development, especially in integrating development tools with dashboard and data science environments.
• Identify needs for improving tools and systems for end-user development. Co-lead development projects.

Your Profile

• University degree in computer science (Master) with a focus on Data Science.
• Very good knowledge and practical experience in data science. Experience with data science tools and environments; knowledge of relevant technologies, models, and frameworks.
• Very good knowledge in software engineering; requirements analysis, solution design, development.
• Experience in realizing data-driven applications with high data volumes and/or machine learning; ideally knowledge of common libraries as well as Angular, Java, Spark, and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Conceptual and systematic approach combined with a high degree of implementation orientation; skill to prepare complex issues clearly and target group-oriented, German language skills at least at level C1.
• High customer orientation and pronounced ability and willingness to quickly engage in challenging tasks and take responsibility.
