Social Worker

The Social Service (SOC) of the City of Geneva contributes to improving the living conditions of its residents by creating connections and enabling full participation in social life. Prioritizing close action, the SOC offers services and develops projects aimed at promoting solidarity, integration, and support for individuals in vulnerable situations, in collaboration with institutional and associative partners.
To complement its team, the SOC's social Team is looking for a
Social Worker
Activity Rate: 60 - 80%
Duration of engagement: 1 year - Fixed-term contract
Entry Date: ideally October 1, 2026

Your mission:

• Inform and guide individuals approaching the Social Service by utilizing institutional or associative resources when pertinent.
• Conduct assessments of the social situations of assisted individuals.
• Ensure support and social monitoring of beneficiaries.
• Contribute to the management of the unit's services in their specificities (social and financial aids, housing issues, etc.) while ensuring links with all internal and external partners.
• Carry out complex processes related to debt resolution (notably establishing a detailed debt status).

Your profile:

• Hold a Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in social work, or possess a qualification deemed equivalent.
• Have professional experience in social follow-up of individuals in precarious situations.
• Possess good knowledge of the Geneva network of public agencies, private institutions, and socio-health associations.
• Be capable of managing, supporting, and evaluating individual and collective projects, as well as working in a team or network, showing an interest in coordination.
• Be autonomous, organized, with a keen sense of priorities and available to work occasionally in the evening and on weekends.
• Experience in debt resolution is an asset.

Employment Conditions:

• Meet the position requirements in terms of diploma and required experience as stated in the offer.
• Hold a valid work permit or authorization.
• Reside or be residing in the Canton of Geneva or in the authorized residency area.
  The selected candidate must provide at their expense the following documents: ordinary and special criminal record extracts and the certificate from the debt collection office.
  The position is classified within category I of the pay scale of the City of Geneva.
