Program and Project Manager «Data Excellence» / Focus on Data Management & Data Architecture

For this, we are looking for an engaged personality with foresight, technical understanding, and a passion for strategic issues. As a Program and Project Manager «Data Excellence» / Focus on Data Management and Data Architecture, you will shape the development of the city's data architecture and management. You will develop common foundations and standards for data use and work at the intersection of strategy, departments, and technology. This role offers the prospect of taking on a central role in the city's data management in the future.

What You Will Do

• Lead strategic projects and programs focused on "Data Excellence"
• Bring the "Data Excellence" theme from the ongoing program structure into effective operation
• Coordinate implementation projects and necessary procurements with internal and external partners
• Responsible for the continuous development of data management with stakeholders across all directorates
• Embed "Data Excellence" with communication and change management city-wide

What You Bring

• Completed studies in business administration, business informatics, computer science, industrial engineering, or a comparable field and several years of relevant professional experience
• Proven successes in leading strategic projects and/or programs
• Proficient in both agile and classic project management methods
• For you, data is the central resource with which the city of Bern can shape its digital future
• Skilled communicator, able to convey complex content understandably in a political context
• Experience with DataMesh, DataLake, Lakehouse, or similar is an advantage
