Data Protection Consultant
Location: Bern, Switzerland (and remote work) | 80-100%
Contribution
- Provide consultancy to the sectors and management of the Office on general data protection issues as well as on IT and digital projects.
- Accompany IT and digital projects to ensure the integration of data protection requirements into IT systems, software development, and other digital solutions.
- Conduct analyses of legal bases, data protection impact assessments, and risk assessments in the context of IT projects and initiatives.
- Prepare opinions, directives, and briefs on data protection matters.
- Raise awareness of data protection regulations and their impact on business processes.
What distinguishes you
- University degree (master’s) in law.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection law; additional training in data protection law is preferable.
- Professional experience with similar responsibilities in data protection (Swiss data protection), ideally in IT architecture, technologies, software development, etc.
- Solution-oriented approach combined with analytical and digital mindset and the ability to convey complex content in an understandable way both orally and in writing.
- Strong consultancy skills, assertiveness, and structured and proactive working style.
- Excellent knowledge of two official languages.

The Directional Area
- Crime Prevention and Law (PCD) brings together centers of competence for data compliance, law, crime prevention, and anti-money laundering (MROS).
- The Data Compliance division at Fedpol ensures compliance with data protection and is responsible for Fedpol's data compliance management system for police information systems.
- The Data Protection sector provides consultancy to Fedpol on data protection law and compliance issues. To expand the current team of three and strengthen Fedpol's data protection expertise, the sector is looking for an additional Data Protection Consultant.
