Description

As a Data Engineer in the energy sector, you will shape the data platform of Energie 360° and build robust pipelines for various data sources including geo, sensor, network, financial, and market data. You will work closely with GIS and specialized teams to enable data-driven decisions and efficient energy processes.

Responsibilities

• Data modeling and linking of data structures; service-oriented integration into the existing analytics platform.
• Migration and further development of the existing Synapse architecture to Microsoft Fabric.
• Development and operationalization of robust data pipelines for all departments, including processing of time series and geodata.
• Development of data preparations and feature delivery; preparation and versioning of datasets for analytics/ML use cases and ad-hoc analyses.
• Definition and monitoring of data quality metrics, data cataloging, and documentation.
• Continuous development of the data platform; cost and performance optimization in Azure.

Profile

• Completed studies in computer science, geoinformatics, statistics, mathematics or comparable.
• Very good SQL skills and experience in multi-layer data preparation processes ideally with dbt on PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with Azure Data Lake Storage & Delta Lake in the context of Azure Synapse/Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience in data modeling (Kimball, etc.), version control (Git) and CI/CD (preferably Azure DevOps).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts understandably; independent working style, teamwork ability, and high willingness to learn.
• German at least C1, English B2.

Nice-to-have

• Azure Data Engineer certification.
• IaC skills with Terraform/Bicep.
• Experience with geodata.
• Experience in defining data quality metrics and creating datasets documentation.
• Security/Compliance in Azure, DSG/DSGVO, pseudonymization/anonymization.
