Data Analyst at the Central Purchasing Body

Acting on behalf of the University Hospitals of the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, the role of the central purchasing body (CAIB) is to structure and manage the entire purchasing process, from supplier strategy to contracting and performance monitoring.

As a Data Analyst within the central purchasing body, you will contribute to the development, evolution, and management of decision-making solutions that improve purchasing performance, data quality, and decision-making. You will interface between business teams, information systems, and institutional partners to transform data into decision-making tools. This role directly contributes to transforming the purchasing center, data governance, and guiding category-based purchasing strategies.

In this capacity, you will analyze business team functional needs and propose tailored IT solutions. You will design, develop, document, and enhance decision-making applications, particularly under QlickSense. You will develop dashboards, indicators, reports, and analyses that improve CAIB performance. Additionally, you ensure the exploitation, structuring, and reliability of purchasing, supplier, contract, price, and item data.

You contribute to defining the roadmaps for decision-making tools and participate in steering their evolutions. You will also assist users in utilizing developed solutions and ensure their functional support while participating in the writing of functional specifications and technical documentation. You will evaluate technological advancements, propose improvements to decision-making tools, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of data management and purchasing processes.

As part of the development of the purchasing center's Data strategy, you will also participate in integrating generative and analytical artificial intelligence solutions, including: automated classification of items, consolidation of supplier references, anomaly detection, automation of certain analyses, improving data quality, and aiding buyers' decision-making. Being proactive, you actively contribute to fostering a decision-making culture based on reliable, secure, and usable data.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science or Purchasing, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have proven experience in developing decision-making solutions, data analysis, or decision support IT.
  • Master Business Intelligence tools such as QlickSense, Power BI, or Business Objects, as well as relational database systems (SQL).
  • Possess a good understanding of technologies related to generative and analytical artificial intelligence and their applications in the decision-making field.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Cegid, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and purchasing information systems (Ivalua, PIM Nextpage, or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Have excellent analytical, synthesis, and modeling skills for complex data.
  • Recognized for your rigor, autonomy, service orientation, team spirit, and ability to simplify technical information for business interlocutors.
  • Mastery of French is essential. A good level of English is an asset.
